The central element of the Original Data Security Kit OSK-E3 is its Original Data Security (OS) card.
Once the user has been registered on the OS card with the special Original Data Security Administrator software and it has been loaded into the SD card slot on the EOS-1D Mark III , all photographs are automatically encrypted so that only the registered user is able to decrypt and view the images. This protects the confidentiality of any image data leaked onto the Internet, as only the user will be able to decrypt and view it.
This is expected to be useful for publishers and newspapers, for example, as OS cards can be distributed to many photographers, allowing the images they take to be collected over the Internet.
